Ground School
What training materials are used for the ground course?
BAA Training uses Padpilot theory books. A series of nine textbooks cover the course content’s main topics and follow the EASA learning objectives. You only need one suitable device (iPad, iPhone or Mac) to enjoy comfortable and interactive reading, regular content updates, and the usage of various additional tools that will streamline your learning.
What shall I do if my Padpilot books do not work?
If you have problems with your Padpilot, email the provider’s support team ([email protected]).
What will happen if I skip lectures?
Your attendance is being monitored in the class journal by the instructor. You must complete a predetermined number of lectures to be allowed to take the final test. Moreover, you also have to be on time for classes. Please check the Student Code of Conduct for more details.
What do BAA Training exams look like?
During the Final test, multiple-choice questions with 4 answers are displayed (only one is correct). All questions are in English, except when the examination is taken to receive a PPL license (then in English and Lithuanian). During the Final test, you can use a dictionary, a calculator (non-programmable, with no special aviation functions and text memory), a navigation computer, a protractor, calipers and a ruler. No other items or equipment other than that are permitted.
If I fail my test, can I retake it?
Yes. If the student scores less than 50% on the Final test, they have to do an additional lesson in the class with the instructor. The number of required lessons depends on the TKI’s discretion. All lessons are subject to additional costs. The student has to retake the Final test within ten (10) workdays after their designated additional lessons are completed.
If the student scores between 50% – 74% on the Final test, the TKI shall specify respective topics, which the student must study individually in more detail. The retake must be completed with 10 workdays.
If the Student scores between 50% – 74% on the Final test for the second time, they shall be assigned additional lessons with the instructor at an additional cost payable by the student. The number of such lessons depends on TKI’s discretion. The retake must be completed within 10 workdays after finishing the additional lessons.
If the student scores 75% and more on the Final test – it is considered they have successfully passed the test.
Students have only 4 attempts to pass the Final test. If the student fails to pass the Final test for the 4th time, they are automatically suspended from further training.
What if I skip the final exam?
Student attendance at the Final test is mandatory without any exception. If you cannot attend the Final test due to a proven very serious reason, you must immediately inform CTKI or BAA Training representative by phone or email. In this case, the possibility of rescheduling the Final exam is subject to the sole discretion of the aforementioned personnel. If you intentionally skip the Final test without informing CTKI in advance and without a valid reason, then your first exam attempt will be considered as failed.
What should I wear during the Ground course?
Students are obligated to wear uniforms every day from Monday to Thursday during the entire training period (if not instructed otherwise in writing). Wearing your own business casual clothes is permitted on Fridays (no sports clothing, no synthetic materials/fabric, no provocative style, no slippers, no shorts, no ripped jeans, or T-shirts with inappropriate words are allowed). Students also have to wear uniforms during official events of BAA Training (Open Door Days, Seasonal Holiday celebrations, New study year celebration, Graduation and other events).
Will I have any vacations?
You will have a few weeks off during the Christian Christmas and New Year. If you plan to leave for holidays during the training process, you must inform the BAA Training representative and get their permission. However, BAA training has the right to decline your holiday request.

ATPL Integrated and CPL Modular
What is the difference between modular pilot training and integrated pilot training?
During CPL Modular, you can train at your own pace and complete module by module. In contrast, ATPL Integrated requires you to do training following a full-time curriculum that combines different training stages.
What license will I get if I complete an ATPL Integrated course? A CPL Modular?
In both cases, you will get a commercial pilot license (CPL) that will give you the privilege to work in commercial aviation. However, aiming to attain a CPL license, you will complete ATPL theory already at the initial training stage. So it will be noted as completed in the remark section of your CPL license. Colloquially, it is called attaining a “frozen ATPL.” It will remain frozen until the day you are ready to upgrade your license to an ATPL. The experience requirements to achieve this ultimate license are at least 1500 hours of total flight time (or according to a specific airline’s policy).
Will I be eligible to apply for an airline job after completing ATPL Integrated or CPL Modular?
No. Your next target will be to complete Type Rating, which requires additional training beyond the scope of the initial license. Type Rating comprises theoretical and practical elements, with the practical part including training in a full flight simulator.
However, if you choose ATPL Integrated, you will be able to select one of three training packages available: ATPL Integrated only, ATPL Integrated + Type Rating and Base Training, or ATPL Integrated + Type Rating and accommodation.
What is Type Rating?
Type Rating is a regulating agency’s certification of an airplane pilot to fly a specific aircraft type (A320, B737CL, B737 NG, or other) that requires additional training beyond the scope of the initial license. It comprises theoretical and practical elements, with the practical part including training in a full flight simulator.
Can you help me get a job after ATPL Integrated or CPL Modular?
BAA Training partners with many Europe and Asian airlines, so we regularly recommend our best students to them. If you demonstrate outstanding performance during the training, we will let our partners know you deserve a seat in the cockpit.
What is the price of ATPL Integrated? CPL Modular?
The price of ATPL Integrated depends on the training package you purchase. Available options are standalone ATPL Integrated for 70 000 euros, ATPL Integrated with Type Rating and Base Training for 86 000 euros and ATPL Integrated plus Type Rating, Base Training, including accommodation for 99 000 euros. CPL Modular costs 70 000 euros.

What is a letter of engagement?

It is a conditional employment guarantee which lists the conditions a cadet is expected to meet during their training to be offered a seat in the cockpit. Typically, the requirements include successful completion of studies, medical fitness and passing a background check.

Virtual Training
Does virtual training entail self-study or instructor-led lessons?
It is instructor-led pilot training via the virtual platform with many collaboration tools that support training in an automated and more scalable format. You can expect high-quality, comprehensive learning under EASA standard programs while being guided by professional instructors. Quality-wise, virtual training is no different from classroom-based sessions. On the contrary, it might captivate learners even more because of the enhanced interactivity it offers.
Will I take exams online while studying theory virtually?
You will complete theory and school examinations remotely, but for CAA exams, you will have to travel to an EASA-approved official examination center.
Can I have a part-time job if I study virtually?
Studying on average 4 hours per day, you will have sufficient time left for your work, hobbies, own business, friends and family. In contrast, in-class theory takes 6-8 hours per day.
General about Ab Initio training programs
I have already finished PPL. Will the total training cost be reduced?
You might be entitled to a discount and have your VFR training stage shortened. However, we can name the final conditions only after we examine your documents and you pass the assessment.
