In this article, we want to introduce you to the unique aspects of this facility, the passionate individuals who keep it running, and its contributions to the global aviation landscape.

Paris – Europe’s Leading Aviation Hub

One of the reasons BAA Training was interested in opening in Paris precisely is the city’s status as one of Europe’s leading aviation hubs with robust infrastructure and economic significance.

Being home to Charles de Gaulle Airport, one of Europe’s busiest airports, and Orly Airport, one of Europe’s oldest airports, Paris can definitely be called a major gateway for international travel. For example, Orly Airport, just 15 minutes from BAA Training France, serves airlines like Transavia France, Air France, Corsair International, easyJet, French Bee, La Compagnie, and Vueling, and is a hub for Air Caraïbesand.

Vytautas Ledakas, Managing Director of BAA Training France, says: “For us, this connectivity not only guarantees easy access for trainees from around the world but also puts us “in the heart” of the vibrant aviation industry’s ecosystem where we can get inspiration for innovation and contacts for collaboration. Paris is renowned as the city of love, but for us, it is the city of aviation.”

“France has one of the largest networks of embassies worldwide, allowing us to offer smooth visa support in 158 countries.

As one of the newest aviation training centers in the world, we have quickly established ourselves as one of the leading simulator centers in Paris.

Range of Crew Training Offered

For airlines as well as individual customers, the training courses offered here include B737 NG, A320, and B747 Type Rating, License Proficiency Check (LPC), Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC), Airline Pilot Standard Multi-Crew Cooperation (APS MCC), Type Rating Instructor (TRI), renewals, revalidations, and cabin crew training. As an approved training organization, BAA Training delivers these courses using the equipment and capacity of the French facility. Additionally, BAA Training France offers dry/wet lease services primarily utilized by airline customers.

Moreover, new airline partners with BAA Training France gain access to the extensive resources of BAA Training’s entire network. This includes 15 state-of-the-art simulators (counting those in Paris), Flight Training Devices (FTDs), and a vast pool of experienced instructors.

For those who do not yet hold a pilot license, BAA Training has separate programs where initial training takes place in Lithuania or Spain. Once trainees complete this training, they can proceed to Type Rating, with Paris being one of the available locations.

Clientele from All Corners of the World

We are happy to serve diverse clientele from all corners of the world, including regions in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. No matter where they’re from, we’re dedicated to offering top-notch aviation training to all. We are proud to have Transavia France as one of our key partners for comprehensive training solutions at BAA Training France.

Striving to provide seamless and easy-to-navigate service, we grant our clients access to a booking system, our internally developed software MOMook. This system lets them schedule their training sessions directly, enhancing convenience and flexibility.

Simulator Fleet and Other Equipment

A true point of pride for any training center is its full flight simulators and other training devices. Our simulators are designed to closely replicate the behavior and performance characteristics of actual aircraft, ensuring effective pilot training and proficiency.

Highly-Maintained Simulators and Flight Training Devices

Currently, we operate two B737 NG full flight simulators, one A320neo, and one B747-400. In December this year, we will have another A320neo ready for training.

For instance, our Door & OWE trainers for both Boeing and Airbus aircraft allow crew members to practice operating doors and overwing exits, ensuring they’re ready to handle these critical tasks in an emergency. The A320/A321 Slide trainer lets them rehearse rapid evacuations, while the Real Fire Fighting Trainer (RFFT) gives hands-on experience with handling aircraft fires. In addition, we have an A320 Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer (CEET) that replicates the interior of an aircraft, allowing practicing emergency procedures in a lifelike setting.

Maintenance and Safety Standards

All the equipment at BAA Training France strictly follows EASA regulations, specifically “EASA CS-FSTD (A)” and “EASA Part-ORA,” which govern flight simulator standards. This compliance ensures our equipment meets the highest safety and performance levels, providing a reliable training environment. A team of highly experienced engineers with expertise in various simulator architectures supervises and maintains this equipment.

Future Outlook for BAA Training France

Looking ahead, BAA Training France has ambitious goals. As mentioned previously, we will launch the second A320neo simulator by year-end, boosting our capacity and training standards. Furthermore, a B737 NG FTD Level 2 will be ready for training by August 2024. Last but not least, we’ll unveil our sixth full flight simulator bay next year.

In terms of collaboration, we will continue to expand our partnerships with top aviation schools in Paris to enhance training programs and exchange knowledge. Additionally, we aim to diversify our offerings by partnering with airlines for specialized cabin crew and safety training.

Golden Nugget of BAA Training France – The Team

At BAA Training approved training organization, we take immense pride in our extensive pool of highly qualified and highly efficient instructors. They bring a wealth of experience from some of the most reputable French airlines, known globally for their excellence and high standards.

Apart from the instructors, it’s important to acknowledge that everything mentioned so far is due to the efforts of the true gem of this training center—the rest of the people who work here. The greatest achievements often come from the smallest teams, and our experts at BAA Training France can definitely relate. Our small yet highly multicultural team of experienced engineers, technicians, training specialists, office administrators, and management is tight-knit and united, so they can move mountains together and do it every day!

Conclusion – Come to Paris!

On this positive note, whether you are an airline seeking to train your crew or an individual pilot looking to get type-rated, or stay current and proficient, we have everything to meet your needs and ensure the highest standards of safety and competence. By the way, while it has not been scientifically proven, keep in mind that a Parisian croissant before the simulator check is said to double the likelihood of passing. Hopefully, you’ll take it into account when choosing the training location! 😊
